PAUL Gallagher hit a 52 minute hat-trick as Rovers reserves hammered a poor Accrington Stanley at the Crown Ground.
Gallagher took his pre-season goals tally to five with an impressive treble and could have had two or three more as he caused the hosts trouble all night
The home-grown striker has admitted this summer is ‘last chance saloon’ for him at Ewood Park and will hope his goals are giving boss Sam Allardyce food for thought.
Having held Premier League new boys Burnley to a 2-2 draw on Tuesday night, Stanley would have been hoping to continue that form against a second-string Rovers side.

But a first half Gallagher braced quickly killed off those hopes as a young Rovers side passed their way through the visitors.
Rovers continued to dominate after the break with Hoilett, who had been relatively quiet, wriggling free on the edge of the box before hitting his shot against the inside of the post.
Gallagher completed his hat trick on 52 minutes when, after the impressive Alan Judge tucked the ball inside, he beat one man before drilling the ball home from 20 yards.
