BLACKBURN Rovers manager Sam Allardyce has been given more injury concerns after losing their final pre-season friendly at Dundee United.

Andis Shala and a Zurab Khizanishvili own goal handed the Scottish Premier League outfit a comfortable win over a patched up Rovers – but injuries to Chris Sanba, Paul Gallagher and Ryan Nelsen will be the bigger worry.

The friendly at Dundee was always going to a weakened line-up for Rovers, with the midweek internationals in mind, but the last thing Allardyce needed was more injuries ahead of Saturday’s Premier League opener against Manchester City.

Substitute Johnny Russell should have doubled United’s advantage minutes after the break, but dragged his shot wide after being put through by Scott Robertson.

Aaron Doran’s goal-bound shot was blocked on 52 minutes while Stephen Warnock headed wide a minute later but a patched up Rovers never really looked like getting back in the game.
